Question Carbon Fiber Detailing

Just for Future Refrence - What do you guys use for fading (turning Grey, rather than staying dark Black) Carbon Fiber Pieces or when they start to turn yellowish ( I guess to age or Heat )?

It has PPG clear on it so treat it like you do your paint. Wash and wax it.

My Rear Diffuser is beginning to show a yellow tint and from experience with epoxy composites I do think the yellow is a slow change happening to the epoxy (age, sun?). Therefore it is something I wont be able to fix because it is the body of the material that is changing, not just the surface. Optimistacally I am going to one day sand the peice down and clear coat again. We shall see.

I know it might sound weird, but what about light coats of Black Shoe Polish ? The black should mask the yellowing parts and also still alow it to shine. Thoughts?

Polish it using a pre-wax cleaner or polishing compound to remove the outer oxidized layer and prevent yellowing.

Frequently apply a fresh coat of wax or even spray wax to help with UV protection.
