doubtfull none of them give you cold air id worry about a bigger intercooler tank and keeping the air charge lower

JLT or a KB CAI.... both are good, both are $200. Im in the same boat as you, I hate having mine in the engine bay. JLT also sells a heat shield if you wanna do that also.

Anderson Power Pipe.

Pick up a couple PSI and some colder air. The filter is in front of the passenger tire, right where the side vent is, on the front bumper cover.

When Anderson was building my car, they used it as a prototype car to build that Power Pipe.

if you get a series 4 inlet, you can put it on your series 2 blower, allowing you to run a JLT intake, this guy did it his website is www.bluegt.com anyway, here are some pics, what you need is on the left, what you have is on the right...

what it looks like installed...

So is it safe to say that the Techo Intake will work on a SeriesIV then? hmmm wonder how that would do?

The intake will work, but remember it is made to use on their complete system, so there might be clearance issues with the fire wall and issues hooking up the EGR system. EvilIgloo is using this on his Series II, so you might want to talk to him first as he had to "modify" his firewall and I don't think he ever got the EGR issue worked out.

The inlet, from the back of the blower to, and including, the filter is Tork Tech. However, Tork teck makes a whole kit including the inlet, and a new lower intake assembly... and a blower if you like. The lower intake isn't designed to use the Series I or II blowers. You should check out their website: http://www.torktech.com/. I spoke to them on the phone once and they are very helpful.

On Evil's car, he did have to cut the firewall to get the intake to fit. Just a small square though....

The last I spoke to them, they were going to offer a heat shield with their kit. The entire kit, blower, intake and inlet requires slight hood modifications with the stock GT hood and maybe the other Saleen hoods as well, but not positive about that. The Tork Tech rep said it should clear my E-hood.

I own a '99 SC with the Series-I. Currently I have the Chicane intake, but I want to switch to a fender based CAI. What is a good one that will fit my car and do I need a re-tune after the swap/

you wont need a re tune, just keep the same maf and you will be okay, as for what to use on the series 1, idk but the chicane piece is a good piece, probably worth some money id imagine!

They do offer a heat shield with their kit but I didn't end up using it because of clearance issues with the LFP supertank. They told me straight up that the heat shield on most air intakes doesn't do much.

And if you want the tork tech kit...werecow is right. You can forget using your stock GT hood or S/C hood without cutting into it or replacing it. That was the main drawback for me doing the entire kit.

James, I have the #4 system on my 2002 S/C. I added a few bolt ons and got a tune at the same time. I'm making like 60hp more than my baseline run with my add-ons. At the time I bought my #4 tunable induction, a lot of people went with it because it was one of the best intakes a few years ago.
