Default Ride quality of an S281-3V

What is the ride quality like on normal roads? Is it compliant enough to be a reasonable long-distance vacation option? I find a Corvette to be punishing on normal roads so, I don't want something that harsh. A Porsche Macan with the 19" wheels or a BMW 5-Series is firm but compliant, so that would be fine.

I have some back injury effects from rear-end collisions in the past so, I need to be cautious with pseudo-race cars that are really built for the racetrack. What I know about the S-281 seems to fit the role I want with a sporty but not harsh ride.

I live in Texas and would take it to Vermont and Maine on vacation, along with another likely trip to the Banff, Canada region and back down the Pacific Coast Highway.

TIA,
Sid

Hi Sid,

The 05-09 Saleen S281 is amongst the most comfortable (IMO). Although I've only owned the New Edge (99-04) and S197 models (05-09). The seats in the S281 3V are very GT like with elegant and unique covers and louvered headrests. Much more comfortable than the optional recaro's in the previous generation.

Best of luck with your purchase!

The suspension on these cars CAN be drastically better with quality components. "Lowering springs" is NOT the answer.
