Default Anyone Else?

Any input on mileage reached on a set of 15" brake pads? Truck is at the dealer with driver side metal to metal, 20 thousand miles, 1 year old truck, rotor is gone, passenger side has 30% pad life remaining, caliper coating is flaking off, I am not to happy to say the least. Dealer is saying "goodluck" with any warranty solutions regarding Saleen. Not to mention, paint flaking off at fender flares where joined to front and rear bumper. Any experience or advise other owners could shed on my situation would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brakeless In California

Default Brake Problems on S331

My understanding is the S331s are tough on brakes. It's a big vehicle, needless to say.

It is assumed brakes are a wear item. 20,000 miles would seem a tad on the "problem" side.

Any update on the repairs?

As a somewhat relevant reference, I went through a set of pads and rotors on my non-Saleen 2001 F-150 @ 19,000 miles. It now has 54000 on it. I've gone through two set of rotors, about 4 sets of pads, rear rotors & rear pads twice.

I have a 2006 F150 and got about 70,000 miles out of our factory pads and rotors in the front and really could have turned down the rotors since they were still fine.

The rear ones have nothing wrong with them and will need replaced by about 100k hits which wont be for awhile since we just recently purchased a new car that will get driven more then the truck.

Now regarding the Saleen front brakes, I have heard the same about the S331's being tough on the brakes.

Am still waiting for parts to arrive. Truck has been in the shop for almost 2 weeks waiting for new rotors and pads. Dealer blames everything on Saleen parts dept. Everytime something goes wrong, its in the shop a month. Dealer says "Saleen probably wont cover anything" and "if they do, goodluck getting reembursed". Is there a contact at Saleen that I can contact that could help me with my warranty issues? The dealer is no help!!!
