Default Q: Supercharger oil check?

Besides the special oil, what other parts are needed to check the oil in a VI supercharger? Cross over gaskets etc.

To check the oil level you don’t need to remove the crossover.

So how do I get to the fill plug? The maintenance manual said it needs to be removed. But if there is a way to check and/or change the oil, I would be interested doing so.

Small ratchet and deft fingers to get the fill plug out. If you are careful and take your time - no need to remove the crossover. The gaskets on the crossover a rubber type are set in groves. I followed this thread and was able to do it a couple of years ago.

Try not to lose the plug under the s/c but an flexible extension magnet works to get it again or any other metallic thing you drop under there.

Thanks for the info. I was going to forward this to my mechanic. But I am thinking I might give it a try myself.
