Default Q: Saleen / Harada antenna?

I just bought my 1st Saleen, 89-0436, and want to remove the antenna mast (clearance from garage ceiling while on a lift). Since this isn't the Ford factory antenna I don't see any flats on the bottom of the mast to unscrew it with. Removing the large nut allows the the assembly (mast and attached cable) to drop down into the fender.

I don't want to break anything so can somebody tell me if the mast will unscrew from the base leaving the base attached on the top side of the fender?

Perhaps your car has the Harada antenna instead of the factory Ford type. My 85 has that unit. Can you post a pic of your antenna? I remember even the Harada having a way to tighten up/remove the mast. Is the whip part metal or a fiberglass material?

Sure I can post a pic. The mast is metal. It's definitely not factory Ford.

That's weird. I tried to upload them from my phone. Trying again from my laptop.
