Exclamation Engine Fire

Today is a sad day. My 07 SC331 supercharged blew a hose connection to the power steering and caught light Although i managed to put the fire out it has caused serious damage to the wiring loom electrics. It is being assessed to see if it is repairable. Bumper number is #280 and as i live in the UK the truck is a very rare vehicle.
I will keep you all up-dated.

Sorry to hear about that. Can't be many dealers who carry parts in the uk.

How true, everything has to be shipped across and Ford dealers can't do any repairs. All work is carried out by specialist garages.

The main wiring harness is factory ford. nothing special. the only other harness you would need from Saleen is the one that goes to the gauges on top the dash. Power steering hoses are also all factory.
Good luck my friend.

Good news, finally got by truck back on the road after some extensive work, approx $9000. Its as good as new and runs a treat. The exact cause was the hose connected to the power steering resevoir was rubbing the resevoir holding bracket and split. It may be worth other owners having a look especially those with a JDM power upgrade.

Default Another fire

Can you imagine how i felt when one of my employees phoned me up and told me that my truck was on fire. I thought i was unlucky last year when the power steering hose split and caught fire but when smoke started in the passengers footwell / glove compartment area and then burst into flames last Friday 13th Feb, to say i was devistated is an understatement.

I had spent alot of time and money getting this to the UK, rectified all the common problems and had the JDM upgrade installed, it was running so sweet.

Im fortunate enough to have an 03' supercharged Harley edition F150 which has never missed a beat. I'm now driving it daily and can safely say that i won't be buying another Saleen.

I hope no-one else has this problem and wish all you owners the very best.

According to the recall list, his S331 was not affected by the recall.

i,m new to this forum ,but i think i bought the parts ,like engine ,tranny, rear and front axle from Spank 331 burnt car ,i bought it from a engine dealer who got it in the U.K
i live in the Netherlands and i,m planning to build the engine in a 52 ford delivery but as you can see on the picture from Spank331 there are a lot of parts burnt and most of them electric like the sensors ,ignition and valve covers.
The base including the heads, block and sc are still usable .
What i need is the numbers for the VCT sensors and a engine wiring incl computer for this engine combination.
Is there anybody who can help me out????
Thanks in advance

I'm new here so I had some questions regarding the recall, I then found the other string with that info. The bad news is that my truck falls within the recall ranger according to the date sticker on the hose. We don't have any Saleen dealers in New Mexico that I'm aware of, so this could be fun to get fixed.

Nice furom, good info here,......sorry to hear about your truck 331spank. That's the definition of a bummer.

It's scary seeing that picture, I don't want that to be my truck,

You can have any Ford dealer do the repairs. You just have to get it authorized through SMS Suprcars or possibly even Saleen. I am taking my truck in wednesday to have the fuel rail recall done at my Ford dealer...they just received the parts from SMS Supercars. Hope this helps you.
