Question Q: Seeking hood vent dimensions?

Hi, I am newbie to this forum, so please excuse me if I do something wrong or I post in wrong section.

I got lucky and finally found S281 with supercharger from 2008. It needs some minor repairs however previous owner changed the hood to SuperSnake look.
I like to keep my Saleen as it should be so I plan to return to original look.
I am not able to buy the hood and vents (leave in Europe) and do not pay milions $$$ for it.
Thus I would like to ask you if somebody could be so nice and send me dimensions of hood vent

Overall lenght, distance between ribs, rib thickness, height of ribs. Any detailed picture would be super appreciated. Also hood pics around vent would be great.

Thanks for help

Hi, welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase!

The entire hood assembly / dies for the 2005-09 Supercharged S-series cars were unique to Saleen.

Meaning both the underside structure and the outer skin.

There were two versions of the Saleen vented hood for 2005-09.

In 2005 the hood was made of composite. From 2006-09 the hood was made from aluminum.

These hoods have a distinct center ridge peak and those twin valleys for the hood vent inserts.

If you do not mind aftermarket / custom hoods, this one might be an option for you (see photo).

To reverse the SuperShaker conversion, you will need the standard upper Series VI intake manifold and complete air intake assembly.

Hi Dave,

thanks for answering. What I meant by SuperSnake look its just a hood.
Powertrain, intake manifold are original from Saleen.

What I plan to do, is to take the steel hood from S197 and convert it to the one from the pic. I got all the tools and machinery needed, just lacking dimensions.

Oh. Are you going to replicate the center hump?

The OE Ford hoods are aluminum.

Hi Kuba

Trust this helps taken of a brand new vent I have
Saleen were selling fibreglass hoods several years ago with these vents but I think they are probably long gone, thankfully I scored one at the right time.
If you need any other measurements let me know

Tony
