Default Are all 2007 PJ's created equal?

Hi all,
Can anyone comment on the 500 PJ's made in 07? We're all 500 created equal from Saleen? other than the ones that have superchargers on them, If I get a stock one that came direct from Saleen, in other words is #2 the same as #30 the same as #150 the same as #489? Or are there ones to stay away from? I see several available for example #24 and #440. If the conditions, mileages, price, and location are identical does it matter which one to get?

Thanks
Chris

For the most part, yes. Only known notables would be...

0001 - Went to Parnelli Jones
0002 - Saleen Inc owned
0494 - Scenic Roof
0501 - Last PJ produced with many custom touches by Saleen Inc

The over-the-counter serialized "Super PJs" are interesting as well.

Thanks,

Are there any known or documented issues (weaknesses) with the stock PJ's or the Super Shaker versions?

1. Gen I watts-link.

2. Some burn oil.

3. Replacement appearance parts are becoming obsolete.

I would also check the front struts. Mine were leaking with only 6000 miles on the car. Probably sat too long between drives. I replaced them with Koni adjustables.

Most of the pool cars were supplied by Villa Ford. A smaller quantity were supplied by Galpin Ford. With exception to PJ #501, it appears most of the pool cars were ordered exactly alike.

It appears the remaining exceptions occur when a Mustang GT was supplied by the stocking/ordering dealer for PJ conversion. Most of the drop ship chassis cars are no different than the pool cars. Except for three.

http://saleenforums.soec.org/showthread.php?t=16360

Ignoring the three exceptions, I cannot see where the benefit would have been for a dealer to supply their own Mustang GT for conversion versus using one of the Villa/Galpin pool cars.

The 3 cars we own are all identical.
2 have broken Watts links center bolts the other car #46 is still new, but I did change the center bolt to 12.5 anyway.

It also surprises me none had the Ford security system installed

The big difference was from Saleen all PJ's were supposed to have been Dyno Tuned, with mine only #46 was #45 and #407 weren't according to AMS Mike
I still firmly believe the PJ's were the best '05-'09 Mustangs built and are good value for money.

I don't believe so, but could have been. His story was a company ordered 5 and only took 4. Have never seen or heard of the other ones.

I they ordered 5, why not order them in black from Saleen.
I have about 20 photo's of PJ #373, and even the engine bay is black; so it would have to be stripped down to the shell

Saleen wouldn't (and didn't) paint them.

All of the regular production 2007 S302 PJ Editions were Grabber Orange.

The "story" we heard when Ken Grody painted their PJ black was, the car was sitting on the lot with little interest. There was a belief that by painting it black, the car would sell.

There was a dealer who got a PJ and didn't think he could sell it in orange so he painted it black. All 500 PJ came from Saleen orange.
