Default 4th Annual NMRA/NMCA Lone Star Shootout - Nov 9-11

Saleen Friends,

We have SISA behind us, so next on the Calendar is the Lone Star Shootout in Baytown in just 2 weeks!
We've done the car show part of this since it's inception 4 years ago and it's been great every year.
It always brings in some nice cars, and you get to take in the racing action as the backdrop.
The way this works, they actually have a show on each day...Saturday and Sunday, so you can enter one or both if you'd like.
Some stay the whole weekend and camp in the track pit area, some get local motels in order to make the most of it.
We usually have a number of Saleens to come out, so please join us!
Let me know if we can count on you and which day.

**4th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Lone Star Shootout
Royal Purple Raceway – Baytown, Texas

Houston, Texas - Event Preview - NMRA

NMRA HOUSTON EVENT ON FACEBOOK

More Info
Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas (just outside of Houston) is the home of the 4th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Lone Star Shootout Presented by Tommie Vaughn Performance - a post-season gathering that features special race classes designed to pit the NMRA versus the NMCA in a battle of wills. This event takes place over the weekend of November 9-11, 2012, and brings the best of the NMRA to Texas. For this weekend only, in a unique twist, Paschal Performance Inc. sponsors a race-within-the-race called the Big Dawgs Shootout, where hand-selected NMRA and NMCA stars come together in a best-of-three matchup.
But that's not all, folks! This event also features a variety of index and Open Comp-style classes designed to allow the largest amount of participation between the local racers and the traveling group. There are a total of five competition classes including the Fords Versus the World Bracket Showdown, and the Lone Star Shootout also boasts a large contingent of True Street competitors. In 2011, Tony Bourns was able to take home the six-foot-trophy as the King of Texas during Saturday's three-pass session. In his win over 45 other competitors, Bourns averaged a blistering 8.49 across the set. Previous class winner Randy Seward was also on the property, coming in as the runner-up with an 8.56 three-pass average. TREMEC Transmissions also sponsors the True Street Quick Sixteen, which takes the top sixteen finishers from Saturday's event and puts them onto a ladder for additional cash and prizes on Sunday. At last year's event, top two Saturday finishers Bourns and Seward ran through the sixteen-car field on Sunday to meet up in the final round, where Bourns took a holeshot and ran away with the event win over an awesome field of real street cars.

I want to race - how do I do it?
