Default Saleen C-pillar paint - What shade of black???

Does anyone know if the black section of the c-pillars are left alone or painted with a flat, satin, or clear coated black? I have a set of two piece c-pillars and the black pieces are in rough shape and im looking to fix them up a little but dont know what paint to use.

Semi flat or semi gloss black would be what I would describe ours as!
It might actually be flat black that has been waxed/polished!?

I can telll you not to use a glossy black paint!

Does anyone have any close up pictures of the c-pillars showing the shine and fitment of them?

Thanks sonicblue and werecow. Im wondering if it has to do with where the pillars were painted. The ones that sonic posted look like they have some shine to them but the ones werecow posted look like a flat black. Werecow, if you get a chance could you take a couple pics of just the black sections from different angles showing the shine of them? and are those the one or two piece? Thanks.

I ran into another problem with the c-pillars but figured i would ask in this thread before i make a now one. I did a test fitment on the c-pillars and at the bottomr near the rear window there seems to be a pretty good sized gap between the pillar and quarter panel. I'll upload pics in a couple minutes

These are the two piece pillars. I looked but couldnt find istallation instructions anywhere. I might be missing something but they dont seem to be a good fit. Does anyone have pictures showing the gap that thses pics show? Thanks

oh...that gap, can't say I've seen one look like that. Did you buy these used? Maybe somebody sanded way too much off when they tried to fit it before. I think the 2 piece ones came on earlier models (don't quote me on that) maybe those was a "fit to the car" type...got me, maybe someone else can help a little better.

Yes, I got them used but they dont look like they were sanded down there. I couldve had them on there wrong but that was the best fit on them beside the big gap there.

Here is mine, can't see the back side where your gap is on this pic but it doesn't have one that looks like that. Wish I could help you. I have only heard of the two piece C-pillars. Never seen one so I have no idea or suggestion to what may be going on.

I just installed c-pillars on mine. They need (just like all Saleen parts) fitted to your car. I had to sand material from the pillars in areas and pound in metal on the car to get a fit that I was happy with. Here's a tip....spray paint the back of the pillar around where you think it's hitting and place it on the car without letting the paint dry, remove and look to see where the paint transfered to the car. I had to do that many times to knock down and/or sand away the high spots.

Default c-pilliar

They do have to be custom fit

As far as a remember the paint is flat black

There are 4 area's on the car Saleen put flat paint on, the reason for this is to give the apperence that the openeing is bigger than it actully is, it gives an optical allusion

1. Back of front bumper
2. c-pilliars
3. Side Scoops
4. Rear Bumper

It seams the paint is flat black with no clear coat.

It could be

Satin Trim paint (wurth/sem)
Flat black ( Im leaning more into this, ill look into it)
Semi gloss black

I hope i dont have to take a hammer to my car. I would think that saleen wouldve made these parts to fit the car without beating sections of the car down since the other body pieces didnt need any hammering. Has anyone had theire c-pillars off of the car?
