Default Q: My front bumper cover seems loose?

I assume the Saleen I picked up a few weeks ago has bumped a few parking lot curbs as I can see where touch up paint has been used on the lower part of the air dam. I remember when I owned 99-0229 years ago it was almost impossible to not bump into speed bumps and what not despite being careful.

I've noticed though the front air dam seems to have a little play in it up and down. I guess this is a good thing when you bump something but how much should it move? I'm probably just being paranoid but it is my car and I worry about it.

I'm wondering also where the mounting points are exactly for the front air dam so I can inspect them just to make sure everything is OK. I'm sure it is I'm just a "concerned parent" so to speak. Any advice would be appreciated.

Erik

When you say "Air Dam" do you mean front Bumper cover?

Yes the bumper cover. It seems OK at the sides but seems to have play up and down.

Erik, mine also has some "up and down" play. My tuner just had the front cover off, and I asked him to take a look and see if any fasteners were loose or missing. He said everything looked fine, so I assume it's just the nature of the cover.

OK thanks that is reassuring. I'm just paranoid about my pride and joy!

Erik.
