Question Aftermarket intercooler manufacturer?

I recently came across some information about a company called Griffin Thermal Products. They build custom radiators, heat exchangers and intercoolers. They have even made improved aftermarket intercoolers for 99-04 Saleen sc owners, with the same or similar results to the chicane unit, for several hundred dollars less.

Is anyone familiar w/ them or know someone who has done this?

Here is there website:http://www.griffinrad.com/intercoolers.cfm

Chicane makes a good product, but its very expensive and never in stock. Mine took several months to recieve....

That sucks. I recieved my intercooler in under a month and it had to be made as well. I believe you are talking about the heat exchanger Barrricade. I have thought about replacing that as well and I don't believe Chicane has one of those, but I haven't researched it much.

I have one of these. I almost went w/ the cobra one (dual pass) and rerouted my lines. The saleen is single pass and is larger than stock.

I have both. I can floor my car and push it hard and it barely touches 130 on a series II supercharger on a hot day. That's saying something.

(Remember...my gauge is measuring intercooler temperature on an '02....so that might not be as helpful for you).

The chicane intercooler lowers your temps by about 30 degrees. LFP heat exchanger by about 10 degrees (so i've been told....i've never validated).

On a hot day, after driving in traffic for a while, or after several boosts my temps build to around 130 while moving. They can get hotter parked. I'm not sure, but the air density at this elevation may cause more cooling issues than @ sea level.

@ 130 it starts to pull small amounts of timing. @ 150+ it takes alot more and becomes noticeably slower. I'm making 10.5 psi w/ this pulley. That definately builds the heat quicker than a stock pulley.

I agree w/ Evils numbers. He has an oversized tank, thats the one thing i didnt do. I just like the stock look under the hood.

Straight water (no antifreeze) and water wetter got me another -5 deg. It all helps!!
