Default Mounting Saleen center caps? - Mine fall off!

anyone have any tips on keepin the center caps on the wheel.i had my saleen 4 about a year & lost 2 caps so far!also any tip on puttin them on,i couldn't snap in place.i don't want to damage the new ones.thanx

If the center caps will not snap into place you may have the larger size caps. I have ran into this myself. Authentic Saleen wheels use the smaller version. 2 5/16" I believe.

I believe there were a few different 1999-04 Saleen center caps.

I might be mistaken, but I believe the early style used in around 1999, 2000, etc used a rubber O-ring and friction to hold the center in place. Or I might be thinking of something else entirely.

I do remember the Saleen dealer selling 2-3 year old S281s missing a cap or two.

Saleen's instructions say to use a few dabs of silicone sealant around the inside perimeter to help hold them in. That's what I did with mine and they are secure. Don't use too much because tou may need to remove them at a later date.

Dave is correct, some used a rubber o-ring around the edge

And he is also correct that there were a few different size center caps
One with a chrome back one with a silver back
