Default Ready to Go!

I'll be at the Campbell Ford event. Let's get those Saleens and have a nice reception for Steve Saleen.

It would be nice if Steve Saleen would stop in northeast Ohio one day Cleveland area.

Default Aaarrrgh!

I have been waiting forever for Steve to go somewhere besides the coasts for one of these events, and figured eventually it would happen. Talk about bad timing, though! I left yesterday for a trip to northern Michigan, driving RIGHT BY the Niles exit, but am now 6 hours north of there and my Saleen is tucked in my garage at home, 8 hours away. If I would have known about this event sooner I would have just started my trip a day later and driven my Saleen. Aaargh! A little more notice would have really been a wonderful thing.

I wonder if I could call Campbell and buy an airbag panel or something from them and get Steve to sign that, ala Shelby. Still not the same as being there, though.

To anyone who CAN get there, do it! We have to demonstrate that these Midwest stops are worth it for all involved in planning them.

I also wish I could go. I actually bought my Gurney from Campbell. Unfortunately, I already have plans made for Friday. Sucks!

This event was first planned for the first weekend of June, then canceled mid-week. Had there been an announcement, most perdonal plans would have went out the window.

Doug knows how last minute these were.

All is well and ready for Steve. The Beyers from Pittsburgh just drove in with a trailer containing their beautiful orange Saleen. Hopefully we have a nice turn out. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Just got a call from Jim Reynolds this evening -- he's making the trek out from Ohio with his Son!

Wish I could catch a flight out!

I got an excited call from SCMcQueen this afternoon -- fun being had by all, and he had Steve in his car and a group of SOEC members were on their way to dinner!

More details to come.

Default East Coast

Jim or Dave,
Do you know if Steve is planning anymore visits to the North East in the near future? I would love for him to sign my XP6.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I do not know. These events tend to have a short lead time.

Default Great time

The afternoon rain stopped about when Steve arrived. Considering the short notice quite a few cars turned out and everyone was excited for all the one on one time with Steve while he signed cars and talked with owners. In case you all don't know, Doug Campbell is a performance enthusiast and racer. He brought his low miles '88 Saleen hatch ( rare T top car ). I don't know if he has ever shown it at an MCA event but the car is a fine example. I had a good time talking to several guys whom I had met at the Gurney car debut at Campbell a few years ago.
