Just to clarify: I was wondering if 89-184 was used for racing ,wrecked or whatever. I do know that the car was parted out, but wanted to find out a little history. Out of the 160 SSC"s , does anyone know how many are left?

As far as I know, the original car was parted out of EVERYTHING. All of the parts were then used together to build another car. The only thing that is not correct is the 91 to 93 front air dam and a 93 cobra grill. The new car has all i.d. tags and all saleen parts. A person that lives a few miles from me with a original SSC could not tell it was a clone . It is not passed off as the original ,but "#184 REBORN".[/img]

Oh... Ok. Is this the Dugan Racing car?

Cobra grill, 1990-93 front air ****, and the Dugan rear seat delete.

Somewhere in my stash I have the Dugan ad when they were selling this car.

If memory serves me right. The original owner of SSC 184... His kid wrecked the car. A low mile one at the time. It was totaled out. Dugan then bought it and placed the parts on an '88 Mustang.

Car has been on ebay (off and on) the past 2 or so years.

I love this site ! If you could please lmk if you do have the ad still. I think that this is probly the same car. The car is titled as a 1988 gt . This would explain the quality of workmanship that was put into this car- it is nice. And the other thing, I was the last person to buy the car on e-bay a few months ago. I was looking for a white w/ white wheels s-351r for along time before this car came on e-bay, but no luck. I bought it for about 25% of what the s-351r with low miles would cost. I liked the style of the car ,but better yet -no collector value to worry about. So, the mods have begun- vortech at 12lbs. boost ,etc. I plan on a stroker motor with tfs heads and intake. Anyway , Saleen's are awesome cars and one day I will find the low mile 1997 s-351r - white with white magnesium wheels (10" in rear")-black recaro interior-6spd. This is the car I missed out on about 4 years ago in brandon,fl. It had 11,000 miles -spotless !!! $33,000 at brandonmotorsports - someone beat me to it !!! Thank you for your time, andy
please let me know if you come across the dugan ad.

I found a Dugan print ad from 1996. I remember a different ad than the one I found, but I'll scan this one and PM you.

Default SSC # 184 MYSTERY

I can give you all the info on this car. It was my wife's bosses car.
The car was totalled one night supposedly by a crossing deer (not). the car was totalled with a salvage title , a local mustang parts house IN Ga bought the car, stripped all of the ssc parts, sold the car to a rebuilder in Tn and it was rebuilt. All of the ssc parts went to a clone. I'M NOT 100% SURE BUT I THINK THE CAR WAS REBODIED and all of the ssc stuff had to be repurchased.
