Default Wife wants a new Z06, I want a new Extreme.

Now you must understand. I love my wife more than the car as hard as that will be to believe for some. Having said that, I could use a few tips from some of you experienced ones out there on this matter (and you know who you are) to help her appreciate the wisdom in following my lead on this.
Any brave souls wanna come out of the closet?

Unfortunately I can only afford one hot rod.

She preferes the vette look primarily, but she also likes the E of course. But there is a business point she has mentioned that rather surpised me. She's heard from somebody how the Z06 will hold it's value far better than the Extreme. So I tells her this I says, "Honey, hard to imagine that with thousands of Z06's on the road and only a hand full of Extremes". That made some sense. But I'm open for suggestions.

Well you can drive the point home by using some facts instead of opinion.. You can go to NADA which actually list prices for Saleen's and compare the 04 Extreme to a 04 Z06: www.nadaguides.com The Extreme has a "high retail" of $52,000 and an "average retail" of $49,200. The 04 Z06 only listed the "average retail" with that being $40,425.
Also I'm not sure where you are at but in Southern California the Z06 aren't that easy to find and when you do the dealer usually wants a premium. I should say use to want a premium and were hard to find, haven't looked lately. Higher resale and possibly less expensive intro cost.. Can't help it if she likes the looks better. The Z06 is beautiful!!
Hey if you have any kids or grandkids you can throw a baby seat in the back of the Extreme... :D

Whitepony, that nada info is beautiful man. Thanks.

Ya the Vette is a very sweet looking ride. I like it a lot. More techno in the cockpit too which is very impressive. Not the muscle car attitude that I want though.

Looks are a personal thing of course. Nothing anyone can do about it. She's only seen the E in pictures though. She's actually sat in the vette. When I get her cute hieny in one of those Saleens it just may even the "looks" playing field just a bit. Nothing like the real thing baby.

By the way, I'm 44 but no kids or grand kids just a 5 year old nephew who will think I'm the coolest uncle in the world.

I wish you the best on getting the E. The vette is a very nice car and will turn heads but, the E will turn more heads. The reason being there will be more vettes on the road than the E.
