2007 Super Extreme?
I listed a link under Ebay Madness.
What does anybody know about a 2007 Super Extreme - bumper SE01 - being produced. I'm not associated with the car in any way, just curious....I've never heard of it. |

I think Mr. Frank holds ownership to the #01 2007 Extreme. A black coupe, if I'm not mistaken.
I don't know anything about this eBay Lizstick vehicle... but Speedlab could have been responsible for the upgrades. Maybe one of their former employees can shed light on it, if so. My own opinion... regardless if Speedlab or Techco did the modifying... I would not give the vehicle attitional collector value over a simarly modified Saleen. If the Saleen production tags are still stamped 07-0005 E, and if the Ford VIN matches the chassis for 07-0005 E... then I would call it the #05 Extreme car from 2007 and return the "05" to the bumper. $0.02 |

I believe Phil Frank still has #07-01E, a black coupe as Dave said.
The origins of this SE01 car would likely fall under the "I already own several Saleens including some S7s, I still have wheelbarrows full of money, and I want something really special" department. A car like this wasn't ordered through a dealer, or on a showroom floor, mind you. The ad explains it started life as #07-005 (though maybe not #1, it could still be the 1st off the line since cars are often not build in order). Then it would have later been built into a "Super Extreme" from there -- It was not uncommon for things like this to be done if Steve signed off on it. Sometimes the engineers would just do things, too. As Dave alluded to, if I had a buck to wager, the owner of this car owns Techco in Anaheim, which is the facility that houses Concours Motorcars, the holder of the auction and where the photos were taken. Back to the story, which implies the SE work was done at Fairbanks, and it wouldn't surprise me, as I stated in paragraph 2. Likely some of what was learned building this car went into the S302 Extremes and of course the Techco 302s since a great amount of the braintrust is now at Techco. We'll learn more about this to be sure.

07-0005 E is a lizstick car and was built for a special person. I won't name that person for obvious reasons. I also know that it received a special custom tune.
