SPARE Tire issue
Anyone have a good solution for getting the spare tire down? With the saleen bumber being wider than a stock ford bumper, the jack kit pole will not reach to lower the tire.

You have a lock by the license plate. Use the ignition key to unlock it and pull the the lock out of the hole, then you can use your crank rod to lower the tire. Anyway, that is how my 2007 S331 works.

Got that far, but tha rod is too short due to the bumber being wider than the stock configuarion the rod was made for. I was hoping someone has run into this delimma already. The only thing i can think of it get under and cut it out.

Mine is a little tight getting the jack twist rod into the lowering mechanism, but it does work.

I have had to use my spare before and I was able to get it down without cutting anything. If I remember correctly it wasn't any fun though. Although having a flat 3 days after you buy the truck and having to change it at 3:30 in the morning probably had a lot to do with the lack of "fun" being involved. I am here to say that it is possible though...

I had to drop my spare in order to install the Saleen air bag kit. I was able to get it down without any issues. I did find it easier when I laid under the bumper and guided the twist rod.

That is what we did when we installed my air bag kit.
