Default Q: Collector Insurance?

Ok guys, I'm seriously struggling here. I bought this car and am having a hard time either getting affordable coverage to cover the mods above and beyond a GT. Everyone goes off of VIN and then when they get pics of the car it all changes. Does anyone know who I can go to for no hassle fairly priced quotes? I am with Safeco now and was covered $20K over a GT value and then when I sent pictures they said they want to cover as a daily driver?? Because it's too modified or heavily modified. I always have an issue with stuff like this it's bizarre.

I have Hagerty but I went through Allstate. I tried to do it straight with Hagerty but was denied . But allstate was able to get me Hagerty thru them

Thanks. Yeah I'm just getting frustrated with it. I got approved by Hagerty but I had to add my other car to it in order to keep it reasonable. I'll keep looking around.

Grundy sucks. Or at least the one clueless underwriter who after sending photos with authentic plate on firewall showing that it's the real deal I think never even looked at it again because I laughed at the guy yesterday when he told me it's quote is based on a GT via the VIN . I then asked him if the underwriter knows absolutely anything about these cars so I'm sure that didn't sit well with him nontheless the agreed value wasn't changed even after the pics and again I had to call back again to ask about it. That was it. They lost my business. Gave them another chance and they blew it so I found someone who approved at a good rate and for sufficient agreed value etc.

I've been with Grundy 15 years with ZERO issues. I've got Shelby's, Mach 1's, Raptor's ALL of them insured at the value I want and don't know what happened to you but never once in 15 years did anyone ask for a picture of my VIN

I have several cars with hagerty. Hardly any restrictions. One was that none of the insured cars were daily drivers. Had to provide proof that I had a normal car. MA has some strange insurance regs, so for me, all of our insurance is managed by one agent (which is fantastic).

^^^^THIS^^^^ I have Grundy and they are great to deal with. My Grundy is underwritten out of Philadelphia. No mileage restrictions with Grundy; and you don't have to have newer daily drivers.

I called both Grundy and Hagerty out of both Grundy seemed to be better for what they offered me for my 2015. I ended up going through Mercury. Might want to try them it's fully insured as a Saleen...

Grundy has been great for me no issues and stated value pricing, keep in mind there are state regulations that control some of what they can offer and how they cover a car.

Thanks for the info and suggestions. Yeah it's definitely an underwriter issue. My buddy is an insurance agent who actually referred me and couldn't believe it when I told him what I went through. I got a quote from Cordon Skelly out of New Jersey. No problems whatsoever and it's covered as a Saleen and it's been the best rate yet. Hagerty was a bit pricey as one of you had mentioned for me as well. And apparently Florida requires that you have as many daily drivers vehicles as you do individuals living at your dwelling which was no issue for me. I was just blown away by what this underwriter had valued the car even after I sent clear pictures etc.

I had Hagerty for about a year until I found out I could go with Grundy and get 5k more on agreed value for 1/2 the cost of my Hagerty policy.

Yeah Hagerty was pretty steep. Indian Land, SC huh? I used to drive by there every day for work. I lived in Union County below Waxhaw. Too funny!

Grundy. Haggerty has way to many restrictions... Like if you want to DRIVE your car.

issues with Safeco. I have my barricade under estated value with them with no issues. 36K and no problems. I also have my Roush that is modified as well for 40K with them but that is through hagerty I believe.
