Hi Guys,
Yes Greg, I used your source, he wishes to remain unnamed but if anyone needs one ( a XP windshield banner) for your XP I'll help you out. Yes it was a labor of love doing this truck and restoring it back to original specs. I know many people know a little about XP8's but little know anything about the XP6. In 1998 there were only 6 XP6's built and that was it. This truck with the 4WD Drivetrain is according to the Saleen Book a 1 of 1 (the only 4WD Saleen XP built in 1998 alll other Saleen XP's were either 2WD or All Wheel Drive). I have yet to send to Saleen for the Letter of Authentication. A rare bird indeed, I'm glad I wound up with it as I am really digging the looks it gets and the questions about it. I am not surprised, he has helped me out with decals for the Saleen Focus. Great guy. Enjoy the truck I miss mine at time, however at 12mpg and $4.00 a gallon I am not missing it to much

Greg
I am doing a bit better than 12mpg so far it looks like 15-16mpg around town with the six banger. I haven't went on any long trips as of yet to test Hwy. mpg. This is one cool little truck! |

I rode in a black one (Rick's) out in Santa Margarita(ville), CA last November.
It was the first time I had ever seen one. I was VERY impressed.

Looks great! One of the XP6's was here locally up until last year; #60
His was a split image of yours, I don't see one difference other than the bumper number.

Where did you find your XP? Owner history known? Thanks for sharing!

I found my XP down south through another member of the SCOA, he put me in touch with the owner. This was the second owner of the XP and he had owned the XP from 2000 ( the XP was originally purchased from a Virginia Beach Ford Dealer - Beach Ford). He kept a detailed dealer service history which I received with the XP. I got very lucky to get this XP and the member who helped me to procure it is one of the best guys you will find anywhere. When I received the XP in April it needed a little TLC which was done and now you have it. I still want a nice foxbody or SN95 coupe or vert. (Hint Hint!) but this really is a nice vehicle and the rarity makes it something special.
Thanks for the inquiry Dave, I hope everyone enjoys it. Last edited by 05 Mineral Grey S281; 06-12-2011 at 05:56 PM. |
