Help: PCV Inlet Tube Sucking Oil
2007 S331 Supercharged... I am currently having an issue with oil being sucked through the PCV Inlet Tube (passenger side valve cover) ... trying to determine which direction to go.
I have now pulled PCV tube on (drivers side) and see oil too. I do not see anything on PCV Valve replacement? On the drivers side valve cover where I disconnected the hose... I assume I am looking at a PCV valve, but not sure. It looks like a brass nipple that has been pressed into the valve cover? I did not want to put pliers onto it until I completed more research. Thoughts, advise and/or suggestions requested. |

Common thing on the supercharged 4.6 so I would assume it would be the same for the 5.4. You need to get yourself an oil catch can.

Compression test recommended
What exactly are your symptoms? The first thing that I would recommend is getting a compression test done. Any shop with a quality OBD device can perform the compression test, in diagnostic mode. The reasoning is; what is pushing the oil out through PCV?
The Saleen supercharged 5.4's aren't running a lot of boost. Meaning there isn't enough pressure being generated to push oil back through the PCV system. A catch can is cheap enough, it would be installed on the drivers side, though. I would get the compression check done, first. Please let us know how you make out. |

Any updates on this? Did you get a basic compression test done?
