1999 Saleen Wreck/Resto
This 99 Saleen was wrecked in Upstate NY. I'll post pics when the job is finished. A friend of mine bought this car and is saving it rather than parting it out.

It is a lot of work, but not too bad really. Swapping a quarter is not a simple thing, but it looks like they are really doing it right. The one thing that raises an eyebrow to me though, is the sanding only half way down the front fascia. I can see this for blending the base coat, and this is likely what they are doing here, but for the clear coat the entire panel needs to be cleared.
Keep us posted on the build as it goes by. At least they are on the downhill side of the build though, shouldn't be too terribly long now. Incidentally, any ideas on how this happened? |

If it was me I would have used a new panel. I'm interested to see how it turns out. Yes it appears as though the whole car won't get painted. The new owner is trying to save a few dollars. It will be a driver most definitely when finished. I have considered buying it. Not sure at this point. I'm pretty fussy! LOL!
As far as the accident? All I know is that it was bounced off some guide rail in Rochester NY. The driver rear quarter panel, front and rear bumpers and driver front fender all had damage. It was hit pretty hard. The tech's at Ivan and Izac Automotive, have done a Great job of putting it back together. The front driver had frame damage. They drilled everything out and put it all back together. All the welding is a difficult job. I've been really impressed with the work they have completed thus far. They are working with a budget. So money is a factor. Yet they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with. |

Nice work. Always cool to see body shop pictures when a car looks like total crap and then after they are done it looks like new

Looks great, Oh it has one of my Mosaleen S/C idler systems on it 2000 model Saleen S/C. It keeps the belt from slipping on S/C pulley and the belt from hitting the underside of the radiator hose.
