Default Help: Compiling a S302E Registry

I am begining to construct a database of owners and vehicle descriptions. I am looking for all S302E's 2008 thru 2009 I thought they made them in 2007 but not sure if those were considered 2008 year models? I would like to get year, Bumper number, Color, Model, location (City/State), Name of Owner and contact info. I understand if you do not want to provide full names or complete contact info so a first name and an email would be great so we can set up a network of contacts. I realize the informaiton on these vehicles is pretty sketchy due to the transition Saleen was experiencing. I know some of you are posting here! Ctann has been great and very helpful to me. I am sharing what I have gethered so far and if you wish to PM me with the information I will provide the database to all owners via email. I will go first...

2008 01 Black Coupe Los Angeles, CA Ken kendog196@yahoo.com
2009 02 ? ? ? ? ?
2008 10 Silver Coupe ? ? ?
2008 11 Yellow Coupe Northern, CA ? Ctann
2008 14 Dark Candy Red Coupe ? ? ?
2008 17 Black Horse Coupe ? ? ?
2008 22 ? ? ? ?
2008 23 Red Coupe Texas ? ?
2008 25 ? ? ? ? ?
2008 26 Black? Wide body coupe ? ? ?
2008 33 Black Coupe (damaged?) ? ? ?

This is what I have collected up to this point... Any assistance you can provide about these cars would be greatly appreciated!

2009 Alloy #02 checking in. There were 5 2009s made. 2 Alloy, 2 Black and 1 Rainbow. Bumper numbers were 1-4 and 9. Number 4 (alloy) was for sale not long ago up in New Jersey somewhere. I lost track of where it went. #9 (Rainbow) is on display at Gullo Ford in Houston. He has 2008 and 2009 Rainbow S302Es there. Both are #9s. I havent been able to track down the other 2 black ones. I'll send my personal info via PM.

lol!
I still think you don't understand....
their are 2 sterling editions serialized as #26
#26 = regular one like the rest
#26DR = drag racing edition
in my thread, I refer to both of them. they are not the same sterling Saleen.
Frank Lawton owns the former owned JDM drag racing one #26DR, and the #26 I don't know who owns it. Therefore 26 Sterlings were made in total.
sorry if I confused you.

ps. I want your Saleen! that is king of the crop! enjoy it man!

I just figured the changed the rims for the race I did not realie it was preped esepecially for Drag racing. Thanks for the clarification and sorry for being retarded...

Yes, I am the original owner. It arrived May of 2008. It's somewhat of a hangar queen. It's only been on 1 road in it's life, but what a road trip it was!!!!!! Coeur d'Alene, Missoula, Salmon, Stanley, Sun Valley, Stanley, McCall, Coeur d'Alene. Check it out, possibly the best road trip in America. It's 1000 mile loop of nothing but twisties.

Hey Ken, love your enthusiasm! As you may have seen, I registered the domain s302e.com, but unfortunately other projects took over, and I haven't been able to do anything with it yet. If you were interested in developing something (or even just starting a blog that we could point that front page to), just let me know.

As for your questions - well, I do have a little info about S302Es tucked away... ;) I'll PM it to you, feel free to colate it with your other info.

One of the big points of dispute at the moment is just how many 2008 S302Es were built. There are two numbers kicked around - I was told by Saleen that 32 were built, but Ron Price's letter said that 25 were built (21 coupes and 4 verts). These numbers are obviously excluding Sterlings. While either number is still possible given the number of cars I have "spotted", the fact that I have identified #29 and #33 indicates to me that 32 is probably the correct number (although Saleen have been known to skip bumper numbers in the past, they usually seem to skip blocks, rather than just skip over individual numbers). As soon as Saleen are doing the authentication letter again, I will get one and see what light that can shed...

Cheers,
Chris.

Thanks Bro! This has been a challengeing and difficult task, your information was very valuable in this quest. So far I tend to lean in the direction of 32 given how many we have "identified" so far and the small gaps we have left! I could only identify one you did not have on your list and that was number 13 of the Sterlings. I do not think they skipped any numbers in the production of the S302Es in 2008 except the requisite number 6 that they have skipped every year, hence the number 33 and a total of 32 produced in 2008.

As an update so far we have identified:
2008 S302E: Total (20) we have numbers 1, 2, 8-12, 14-18, 21-26, 29 and 33
2008 Sterlings: Total (17) we have numbers 1, 5, 8, 11, 12, 15-20, 22-26 apparently there are two number 26, one was a special Drag racing variant the only one I can see that was made, so it would appear there were actually 26 sterlings made one of which being the 2nd 26 designated 26DR. There are rumors of a number 00 that was the prototype, it was either destroyed or renumbered, my guess is that might have been the base for the 26DR...
2008 H302s (37)total came in two varieties the S/C(15) and N/A(22)
S/C: 16
N/A: 10,12,13,14,16,25,29

2009 S302E (5)total 1,2,4,9,10
2009 H302DH Dark Horse, (8)total
1,4,9,25

The quest continues if you have any information please post it here! Currently I only have contact information for three of the owners ;o( would like to develop more in that area!

Ken

Awesome, we've been working on a PJ registry for almost a year now and we've found almost 1/2 of all the PJ's.

Wow, some very creative copy in that advert.

"These cars were sold for as much as $100,000 OVER the MSRP!!!!!"
"Only 25 of these cars were ever built. We were informed by Steve that 6 of the 25 were destroyed in accidents, leaving 19 of the original 25."

7 bidders on the auction too, and up to more than $70k? Not sure I believe that either Anyone here bidding?

Chris.

Wow so per Dave only 26 302E's were made in 2008 and 5 in 2009 for a total production of 31. I do believe 25 Sterlings were made basically also 302E's with different rims and loaded. If you count those only 56 of these cars were produced.

The above count should not be considered a Bible reference. There are six questionable 2008 Mustangs they may or may not be relevant (serialized).

The above does set a ballpark number.

I’ve never found a mention of S302E 09-0003. I have the following on 09-0001, but it is unconfirmed. Press cars always seem to be a little mysterious... Jason at S281 can probably give some more background as to whether the below is true or not...

“This vehicle was built for a US Navy Seal (SOCOM). He built this car to memorialize his fallen comrades that would otherwise never be paid homage too.
This is a very rare car...it is a 2009 Saleen S302E #001 Press Car. The vehicle has over $65k in high end modifications that have been executed by 281 Motorsports. It was featured at SEMA 2 years in a row. A TV interview was done by Buckeye of Power Media / Mustang TV at the SEMA show.
We will not post a price for a car of this caliber, but those that would know the money invested in something this amazing would know the range with would be in. Special pricing consideration for Active/Retired Military or someone willing to campaign the car to bring awareness to the fallen US Soldiers.”

Default S302e 09-001

Looks like I found a youtube video in 09-001 S302E.

Looks like it was for sale in France at , 2010 timeframe at
Madness-us-cars.com, a French specialist of the American car.

Interesting notes: 08 interior, non HID headlamps, New 2009 rims, no push-button start. Dark accent decals (gotta watch the video to confirm its number 01), Also, on the sides it says "302 Supercharged", not "Extreme", Pirelli Rosso's, 275/40s on the back. Standard rotors in rear and slotted in the front. Doesn't look like it has the carbon fiber splitters. Interesting!!

This "09-0001" is/was a one year only model known as the "S302 Supercharged." I was an S-series body with a 2008 H302 SC drivetrain.

Only one unit was made of this 2009 S302 Supercharged model.

For 2009, each Saleen Mustang model had their own unique seat cover design.

The 2009 model lineup were... S281 Sport, S281 Supercharged, S302 Supercharged, S302 Extreme, Dark Horse.

Hello, i purchased a 2009 S302E from Saleen in about September 2009, via a large Los Angeles based Ford Dealership, Galpin Ford. and I just missed out on the Parnelli Jones Aniversary Model, so the Saleen CEO at the time, via a personally signed letter addressed to me, and kindly offered me the first 2009 S302E Model Bumper Sticker Number 001,for my black 2009 S302E.
which I have now upgraded to a Dark Horse spec, and added the Super Shaker kit, and it was dyno tested at 643 RWHP (rear wheel horse power). Purchase price was $86.000 USD.

2009 Saleen S302E
Bumper Sticker 001
Colour: Black

Default 2009 Saleen S302E CVT

Hello guys,

I just registered in the forum, because I saw you are trying to create a database for 2007-2009 Saleens.
I am glad to contribute with some information regarding 2009 Saleen S302 Extreme #3 - the black convertible. I saw it was mentioned several times in the thread.

The car is located in Bulgaria (Europe) and is in like new condition keeping in mind it has less than 1000 - yes one thousand original miles!
A little sad story behind the low mileage. After the car was delivered new in my country the owner passed away almost immediately, hence the less than 1000 miles mileage. The car has always been stored in a dry garage, but haven't been started for a while. Now the wife of the owner is willing to sell it.

I will get some pictures of the car and will post them.

I was doing a research when I came upon the forum and I was trying to figure out how many 2009 Saleens has been produced and what is a fair price of this car, because I have to assist with the sale of the vehicle.
So I will appreciate your help regarding the production numbers and fair value.
Thank you in advance.
Peter

Mr. Tony Day has a 2008 S302 Extreme, it is not a Sterling Model.

Thanks for the tip. Since 2013, Mark has put 3000 miles on the car, raised the price $6000, and decided to keep the jacket and watch...

I always thought it was a little odd to use the stock photos, but I'm assuming it pretty much looks like the day it was new...

Hi Guy,

I missed this post before. Amazing how many of these cars wound up overseas - including 3 in Oz, and now one in New Zealand. I plan to take mine back to Perth as well one of these days, although current situation has put a hold on the plans to move home for now...

Chris.
