There is a #48 and a #50 but no #49. how is this possable did they not lable one 49 or is the registry incomplete?

Not all cars were registered so this could explain your dilema. However, the best way is to get the vin #, call Liz. She is really good at returning phone calls, so if she's not there, leave a message. 8)

I have actually looked at this car, I live in Arizona, the guy seems legit, although he had it sold on ebay a few weeks ago and the deal fell through.

I have a question too, is there supposed to be a ID tag on the driver side firewall under the hood? This one does not. I called Saleen and they said it should also have the tag on the console (it does but it has a '93 console), but I have heard you can buy fakes on the internet so that tells you nothing.

This car also has a lot of body filler in the roof and driver side door, I wonder if it was rolled or took a bad hit on the driver side. I went to this guys house with cash-in-hand and passed. Assuming it is an authentic Saleen whoever changed out the nose, rear wing, quarter windows, console etc. was either really stupid or clueless about what they had. Or maybe just hated the '86 style!?

Any advice would be appreciated, the message about no #49 makes me even more leary. I would buy this one in a heartbeat if I knew it was the real deal. I just found a '93 hardtop in the local auto trader, before I even looked at it I called Saleen, the VIN matched a '93 covertible, an obvious fake. What a shame!

Take care and good luck to anyone who is out there searching , like me!
