Talking New owner 06-0240: Windveil Blue S281 SC

In about a week the car shows up. Don't know if the last owner is on here but they sold it in Escondido California, it's a one owner car. Not sure of bumper number yet. It has 43k miles. Is there any thing they would of put on for exhaust regulations being a Cali car? Also I'm guessing I should probably service the supercharger, not sure if it has been service it's whole life or not. Is there anything I need to be checking when the car arrives?

And how much am I looking at for servicing the charger?

I believe 281 Motorsports services the SC, as well as PSE Superchargers. There are probably others.

Thank you, I have called 281 already, waiting on a call back. But I would have to probably ship the car out there and have it shipped back. I wonder if I can have a shop take off the supercharger ship the unit out and send it back and have the shop change the oil. Or does 281 need the whole car?

This is not a complete list but might have the info you are looking for. Congratulations on the new car.

You don't have to ship your entire car to 281 motorsports.. You can either uninstall the supercharger yourself or have a local shop do it for you..

When you talk to Jason on your call back, ask about their packaging container for shipping your supercharger out to them.. They will send it out to you free of charge.. You just simply pack your supercharger in their container and take it to either UPS, FedEx or USPS to have it shipped to 281 motorsports..

Container is free of charge. Just need to pay the shipping to get it to you. I just sent mine out to him yesterday. Felt very uncomfortable shipping the blower till I saw how snug it fit in the container he sent me. Can't wait to get it back!

Talking New owner Windveil Blue w/Scenic view S281 SC 06-240

I'm the 2nd owner. You'll hate me if you find out what I paid. It does have the rare scenic view glass roof, which I believe may possibly be the only one on a windveil blue?

I haven't taken too many pictures yet, the ones I have are pretty bad. Going to go do a little photo shoot today with it, but for now here are some..

I believe it has a smaller pulley on the supercharger as it seems to be making more boost than stock, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe stock boost is 4-6 lbs on these?

It was a one owner car out of California, now it is here in Des Moines, IA.

Last owner I believe was Harmon Luther JR.

Please let me know if this is the only windveil with the scenic roof option/ how many sc windveils were made as I know windveil blue isn't a very common color.

Cool car and congratulations on your purchase.

Just to clarify. The glass roof on your Saleen is a first generation CDC Glassback kit. This kit went out-of-production shorty after Ford released their factory glass roof option for the 2009 model year Mustang.

No. Either by a CDC installer, Ford Dealership, body shop or at home enthusiast.

The CDC glass panel sits on top of the OE metal roof skin. The Saleen glass panel replaces the OE metal roof skin.

Saleen wouldn't of taken a GT with this done to?

Great car. Congrats. From the pic, it looks like the heat exchanger is missing. Must be the angle.

Well. Most of the 2005-09 cars were pool cars that Saleen ordered through one of two dealers. Very few 2005-09 cars were drop shipped from a dealer or came from dealer stock.

This hypothetical would entail: A dealer has a new 2006 Mustang GT inventoried, dealer installs CDC Glassback to increase profit, then while the GT is still inventoried, dealer decides to deliver car to Saleen for S281 conversion.

There is a rough estimate of 64 Windveil Blue S281 Mustangs produced in 2006.

Of those 24 were S281 Supercharged models.

Of those 17 were coupes.

Of those 15 were manual transmission cars.

Of those 7 were produced in Irvine CA.

06-0240 was one of the first 2006 S281 SC coupes in Windveil Blue w/ manual transmission produced.

This vehicle was also produced early enough in the model year for build notes, probably before Liz Saleen retired. No mention of the CDC roof, so I doubt the vehicle was supplied this way to Saleen.
