Default Q: Max RWHP with Series VI Supercharger? - 2007 S281

Hi . What is the max HP you can get out of a stock 07 S281 super charger with out doing anything to the internals of motor? Where is a good mustang tuning shop in central Pa. Thanks

You should probably post this in the 2005-2009 section.

Are you looking to get the car on a Dyno? If that is optional, you can get a great mail order tune from JDM Engineering or Brenspeed. You just need to purchase an SCT handheld tuner or they can send you one with their tune already loaded. There are other great mail order tuners and handheld tuners.

Most play it safe and stay under 480rwhp. Some have pushed the stock internals to over 500rwhp but it becomes questionable at that point. Some have had success and others have had failures in this range.

480 can be safe with the proper fuel and cooling systems in place.

What about with the extreme? What's the best with the forged internals?

With what mods done? I recently purchased 07-0063 E. It's bone stock and want to make good power with it but not sure where to start. Several shops have of course told me different places to start but none have experience with the saleen extreme.

I created a double rod inspection window at 452rwhp on a long 4th gear pull..... with a pulley, CIA, gt500 fuel pump, afco pro, and tune. On the dyno it showed a clean af mixture. Detonated and before I could get my foot of the pedal i left a portion of my motor and fresh oil change on the interstate.

Getting into the 650-675 range requires spinning the supercharger at or very near it's max capability. Will probably cams and supercharger porting as well as head porting. It becomes expensive to get those last 50-75 HP. You can easily buy a smaller pulley, overdrive crank pulley and get a good tuner to get a pretty good HP jump for a fairly low $$$ amount. The key at these HP levels is to find a great tuner that knows the 3 valve mod motors. If you can't find a great tuner then plan on becoming good friends with a machinist or someone that works at the Ford Racing crate motor division.

I would like to see the setup that gets 650rwhp and details on fuel. Always looking for little gains...

That being said the Saleen blower is the limiting factor on the Extreme, not the built motor. The 281 aluminum blocks are supposedly good for 800-1000 depending on internals.

I am sitting right around 650 rwhp. 2.75 sc pulley, 10% OD crank, Mosaleen, FRPP throttle body, 60 lb injectors, series VI.5 lid, Techco intake, Techco built forged and stroked engine, high flow cams, shorty headers, gt500 fuel pump, ported supercharger, ported heads, mezeire electric water pump, aluminum drive shaft... Think that's about it for power.

What fuel?

The extra Stroke is giving you some power over my setup, otherwise we are very similiar in setup.

I'm pretty sure that Seelye76 is running pump gas for those numbers. At least the last time I saw him dyno at over 600rwhp he was running pump gas.

What is the reason for wanting that much power?

Jason the only wat I can explain it I guess is kinda like when you take the wife to get bolt ons you think...ahh, I'll be happy with a full c on her frame and then you see the double d's and think...hell no! I want those instead.

Or at least that's how my brain works I guess...always want more than I probably "need".

There are much better ways to get your E-ticket ride out of your car then pushing the limits of the motor.

This coming from a guy that had a 2000 Mustang Faleen (913rwhp) and has a speedster that is going to be in the 600-900 rwhp range?

I learned from my Faleen what not to do! My Speedster is in the 550-600 range. We just got it running and I think I have a few bad injectors, but we will have it on the dyno soon. OH, and I have about 12k of suspension/chassis work done to said car!
