Default "Line In" jack in console compartment? - How to use?

Anyone know what the "Line In" socket in the armrest compartment on a 2007E car used for?

So far I have only tried an Ipod and that's not it...it's a Aux port, but is it only good for a non-Ipod MP3 player?

What do you use it for?

Thanks

A line in is a line in.. If it is a stereo jack connection it should stream music from any player. If it did not work with your Ipod, something is wrong there.

I agree…it should work, but you know how Apple can be with proprietary stuff.

You know what, now that you mention it, it may just be the stereo cable you used doesn't work on the apple device! I have had this happen before..

agree that it's probably the cable. I've only ever used my Ipod for line-in.

I'm hopeful again...

Ok, once plugged in, you push the "Aux" button, correct?

Yes, just push the Aux button on the head unit. I use my line in all the time with my iPod and it works without a problem. I'm also guessing your cable doesn't work with the iPod.

Don't forget to push it until it shows "Line In" on the display.

You may also have to turn the volume up on your iPod. I tend to turn it up on the device to about 3/4 max, then adjust with the stereo.

I have an 07 and use my Ipod all the time. You need to push the Aux button on the radio once you plug the Ipod in the line-in in the center console. Make sure you see line-in on the radio display screen.
Also turn your Ipod volume to HI and make adjustments using your radio volume.

Default i use the Line-in all the time.

Yes, press AUX on radio, ensure it says Line-in on the Radio screen. Then ensure you have 3.5mm male cable on both ends, one end plugs into your console jack and the other end plugs into your mp3 player (ipod) in the headphone jack! That's it! Turn up the volume!
