Default Help: Series VI supercharger squeak

Hello all I have a 2005 with the series vi blower I've already replaced the lower plastic pulley from saleen. There is a sqeauking noise that has now developed into a sqeaul upon startup and gets louder and faster the higher the car revs, noise seems to be coming from belt tensioner. I've replaced the tensioner the tensioner pulley the belt idler pulley and water pump pulley and the sound persists not even soaping the belt will quiet it down anymore! Any suggestions as to what it might be?

Have you changed your belt? Is there any belt residue on the pulleys/motor?

You mentioned that you changed the water pump pulley but it is pressed onto the water pump shaft so if it were squeaking the water pump itself would have the bad bearing and need to be changed.

It felt fine last I spun it but I'll look into that also I was told about the front bearings in these blowers having a problem blowing out. Heard anything about that? Car only has 27k miles on it

There are known issues of the supercharger front cover leaking which can lead to internal damage. Remove the intake tube and check the snout for an oily residue near where the supercharger nose meets the main body. You may also want to check the oil level in the supercharger. If you have a leak or are low on oil I would recommend a supercharger rebuild.

This may sound far fetched, but I had a real nuisance squeak too. Turns out my belt was scrubbing the bracket for the alternator... You might could look at that

My apologies up front if this is redundant, are you using a piece of long wood or metal (long wrench or screwdriver) on the different housings of the suspected culprits with the other end against your ear or head in front of you ear? The other sound spotter trick is a length of 3/4 inch pvc tube to float near specific areas to help pinpoint the sound. The wood/metal rod trick is better for bearings and contact noise, the tube for exhaust leaks or just plain hard to reach into areas. My 2007 noise that I thought was the SC, was the plastic tensioner pulley that got swapped for the Ford metal one.

I am glad you mentioned that. I am currently having a squeak that increases as the RPM's go up like the OP. I borrowed a mechanical stethoscope from a friend to make sure it isn't my supercharger and it is coming directly from my alternator. How did you stop it from rubbing?

I put a GM pulley on that was a little taller and narrower. I now have a cross breed, but it doesn't squeak :)

Lol. Do you know the part number? I'll be checking this when I get home. Hopefully this is my problem, I really don't want to buy a new alternator.

I don't, it was on a desk at Atlanta Chasis Dyno so we tried it and it worked perfect
