Default 2006 Scenic Roof - Shade?

Does anyone know if there is a shade or an insert made for the scenic roof option? I love my scenic roof, but it gets mighty hot, like driving while sitting in a green house! I don't want to do anything that will potentially "pop" the glass from overheating and I don't want to tint it. I'm hoping there is a shade that can be installed or an insert. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

In other threads it has been explained that there is no option other than perhaps doing window tint film.

If someone wanted to do the work couldn't they just replace their headliner with the OEM FORD '09 glass roof headliner? It comes with a built in slidable shade.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't install one. As far as some sun relief, pepboys (a auto parts store) sells a retractable window shade that you could put up there. They are meant for door windows but would work fine. That attach to the window with suction cups. Should be enough to get the heat off your head and face at least.

The viewable area in the Ford Motor Company glass panel is smaller than the Saleen Scenic Roof. The FMC panel doesn't stretch from rear window to windshield either, like the Saleen version. The FMC roof features piano black filler panels.

I always wear a baseball cap and turn the AC up on mine. Sometimes even wear sunscreen on my neck. It is a small issue but worth it in my opinion just to have this option.

I was told it is a stock Ford part that comes with the glass roofs.

Need a part number?
