Default Carlisle Ford Nationals - June 1-3, 2012

It might be a little early to start talking about it. But anyone planning to attend and bring their cars? I attend every year, but I'm really going to try to bring my car this year.

Anyone aware of "car trailer friendly" hotels in the Carlisle area?

Is SOEC going to have an area again this year?

I'm not sure which hotels in the area actually have accommodations for trailers but for an extra $10?? there is trailer parking at the show. It's been awhile since I've been down there with a trailer but from what I recall it was convenient.

I'm taking my car. I have for the past few years and it's always been a great turn out at the SOEC tent and the SCOA right next to us. Make sure you register under SOEC or SCOA whatever your preference is. We do have our own Saleen category of cars to register in with. The trailer information as well as the information for the parade on Saturday is provided via the registration link here:

I just bought my car and registered as soon as I got home with it. We're only coming for Saturday but plan to make the most of it. I've been the past few years but this will be the first time bringing a car.

I think the Best Western and Hampton Inn are more than doable. The Radisson Hotel was also nice... circa 2000.

For the parking on the grounds....do you leave the car there over night or drive out to the hotel? How does that work?

Thanks for your help.
Sign up for showfield and ensure you pick the correct drop down box for SOEC. I would recommend getting a hotel room for one night. I'm planning on arriving on Friday evening as of now because I signed up for the Saturday parade. You can stick around for the Sunday burnouts but that's totally up to you. Most people take their prizes back to their hotels or put them away in their show carriages but you can leave your car on the grounds. They do have security. You may want to call Carlisle and ask more about their security if you are concerned about leaving your car. If you do, I may leave it too.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'm signed up with the Carlisle/SOEC group so I will see you guys on Saturday. Planning to arrive in town sometime Friday afternoon/evening. I'm staying at a hotel about 15 mins from Carlisle so I will need to drive the car to/from the event.

What is a good time to pull into the fairgrounds on Saturday morning to join the group? I did sign up for the parade also and plan to head home from there. I'm looking forward to this!

Also signed up for a 2 yr membership with SOEC today. Hoping I will get my sticker by Carlisle but I'm not sure it will happen that fast. Keeping fingers crossed.

I will have decals during the event. I can also mail you a decal this week if you want to apply it before the show.

The "Gate-n-go" pass makes a world a difference. I would try and arrive before 10am. The Saleen section fills quickly.

One bummer with Carlisle, the event, you are not guarantee a parking spot with your class. The other bummer with Carlisle, some participants do not park in their designated class. So, you might find a strange Mustang parked where it should not be.

I'm curious what class people are getting put into. For some reason, I'm in the SVT Cobra Convertible class.

Admin error. Just call their office and the admin folk quickly fix this over the phone.
The correct class is "R152" 1994-2004 Saleen. At least that's what my letter says and it may be incorrect too. I'll call to verify that I'm with SOEC.
They should immediately mail you the correct sticker.

They arent mailing new stickers. It has to be changed at the Guest Services Office at check in. I'll just tell them where I want to park.

Part of me wants to say... apply the sticker... do the 'Gate & Go'... park with the Saleen vehicles... then walk over and correct your entry.

Default Taking the 97 S351 to Carlisle

We have registered for Carlisle and are taking our 2007 Supercharger convertible and our 1997 S351. The 351 hasn't been to Carlisle for a few years. It would be nice to see how many 351s we can get together. In particular are there any other 1997 S351's convertibles available to attend. #97-14 will be there. There were only 19 S351 convertibles made. I would love to get a photo of some of them together. #97-42 usually attends.

We will be there with the Yellow Mustang Registry as always (our 10th year in a row). Gotta park with the yellows since I am YMR's show coordinator. This will be Saleena's (99-126) first show since getting the new paint job and engine work done. Will stop up and say hello to everyone Saturday afternoon. See you there...

I'm leaving Friday night between 5-8pm or early Saturday morning about 4 or 5am. What's driving my departure plan is the downtown parade that I'm participating in. Eitherway I'm down for a group cruise if we can. That would be a thrill in itself. Just so you know I tape up my Saleen to protect from rocks and such so I may not be the best looking Saleen at first :-)

Hey guys,

I've always wanted to go to this show and this year is the year! I will be bringing my camera and posting pictures on soec while I'm there, giving me something to do besides drool on the cars. I look forward to meeting some of you I've met on here and on the phone. If there are any cruises or get togethers, someone clue me in I'd love to show my dad how Saleen owners do it since I'll be bringing him since he lives in Pittsburg.

We sponsored a breast cancer promotional car that will be on display out there that travels the country raising money for breast cancer, so please excuse the pink ribbon Shelby shirt you guys might see me wearing, it's for a good cause.

See you next week!

Does anyone know what a good hotel around there is?

Holiday Inn has plenty of rooms left. Check out Carlisles webpage on hotels and you'll get a variety to chose from.

Just an option in case you couldn't find something cheaper. It's about .5 miles from the Carlisle show field.

Carlisle Ford Nationals: Friday-Sunday, June 1-3, Carlisle, PA

-- Official Club Gathering on Saturday at Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club Tent --

Saleen owners throughout the region are preparing for the Carlisle Ford Nationals this coming weekend, with the primary car show day being Saturday, which will be the official Saleen Owners gathering for the weekend.

SOEC goody bags will be available during the Saturday event for those who listed their affiliation with SOEC, with the priority going to those who RSVP -- quantities are limited.

To RSVP: Please supply Dave Bruno with your name and vehicle information:
-- Year

The SOEC tent is EE located Q89-90. (See attached map)

I apologize in advance if we run out of goody bags. We seem to be close to maxing our estimation of participants.

You have to think positive, that means, 50% chance of sun on Friday and 70% chance of sun on Saturday..Theres a good chance it'll be nice!
