New York Auto Show 2014: S302 S/C Black Label

The 2015 50 Year Limited Edition model isn’t the only Mustang we saw on display at the during the press days at the New York Auto Show this week, as Saleen made the cross-country trek to show off their lineup as well. Featured prominently in the company’s booth is this gorgeous 302 SC Black Label Mustang Speedster painted in an eye-catching Speedlab Yellow.

The Black Label is Saleen’s most heavily optioned Mustang in their lineup and is the “epitome of Saleen styling and performance in one package,” according to the company. The car comes with a full Saleen body kit, 20-inch wheels, complete suspension upgrade, 14-inch brakes, custom interior with leather and Alcantara two-tone Chevron seats and plenty more. This particular model on display is the supercharged version putting out 625 horsepower.

I will be there this Friday. I can't wait to check out the Saleen display. I'm not seeing an S7. Will there be one on display?

I do not believe an S7 will be on display. You will see a custom paint S302, a custom paint S620 and a SA-30 Challenger. The custom paint S302 and S620 may already be sold.

Thanks Dave. That's a little disappointing compared to pictures of other show displays that I have seen for Saleen; but I guess something is better than nothing.

I'd like to know more about those hood vents. They appear to truly vent the air from under the hood...

They may have changed the vent design. I believe the originals from 2010 featured a mesh insert. These have ribs almost similar to the 2005-08 vents, but smaller.

I attended the NY Autoshow this past Friday and, low and behold, Molly was there! The Saleen display was not overly crowded when I got there, so I had Molly's undivided attention. She truly is a great lady. We talked about the future of Saleen. She loves NYC, but also would have loved to be in China with her dad. She said the Saleen brand is really popular there. She told me the upcoming 2015 will be awesome, but obviously she would not convey any details. As always, she was gracious enough to pose for a "selfie" and other pics. Thanks again, Molly!

The new Mustang display at NYC Auto show. First time seeing the new car in person and I am NOT a fan. To me it is trying to do too much. Sleek European styling combined with retro traits just does not cut it with me. In one pic you can see the resemblance to a Fusion in the backround on the vid screen. Saleen has its work cut out to make this car look good. I will be keeping my S197 for now.

Thanks for the info Dave. I checked out the newer vents while I was in house for the Knott's show and I loved them. So, Saleen is installing the newer vents in my hood.

Molly is great. Somehow she manages to travel all about, organize shows and keep things going and somehow makes it look easy and always with a smile. I don't think people know how much happens, behind the scene, to make these shows as awesome as they are. A lot of people, put in a lot of effort and a whole bunch of hours to get it done...
